SEC 00 / THE COACH
I Couldn’t Let That Compliment Go To Waste
“I wanted to weight lift for as long as I could remember. I grew up seeing influencers with physiques and I knew I wanted to have the same. One day I asked my dad to show me how to do a few exercises in the basement and I stayed consistent. The moment I got my first compliment on my physique was when I knew I couldn’t stop. I couldn’t let that compliment go to waste.”
No coach, no plan, no gym. A basement, a couple of movements somebody showed me, and the decision to keep showing up. That is why I never ask a client to arrive already in shape. I started with less than most of the men who contact me have right now.
I coach in levels because that is how it actually happened for me. Level one was owning the movements. Level two was real weight on the bar. Level three was the week somebody noticed. Every client gets the same ladder: a simple push, pull, legs list, one clear next unlock, and a bad week treated as a respawn instead of a reason to quit. Nobody loses a month to a missed session in my gym.
What I will not do is let you stop where it stops counting. “I would refuse to stop clients at a place of discomfort, while still listening to their needs.” Effort goes up, form holds, and the set ends the moment the rep stops looking like the rep. That is the whole standard, and it is not negotiable.
Landon Ritter Fitness is new. I would rather tell you that than dress it up. What is not new is the training, the split, or the standard I hold in a session.
SEC 01 / WHAT I HOLD
Two Rules, Every Session
01
Push past the estimate
Your ceiling is almost never your body. It is your guess about your body. I take you past it and into struggle that is still manageable.
02
Listen to the person
Holding a hard standard and ignoring somebody are different things. An angry joint gets worked around, not negotiated with.
